Network Marketer, Be Honest
Network Marketer has a dubious past. As in every profession, there are individuals that take the low road. However, it is comforting to know that a dishonest network marketer does not make it to the top of their company, because their organizations lack the foundation that duplication brings. One’s team members cannot and will not duplicate dishonest behavior.
Sometimes new network marketers are making a presentation to a prospect about the company and the prospect will ask; is this a pyramid scheme. A new network marketer will become uneasy. Honest companies with great products and great compensation plans are being lump together with illegal pyramid schemes. A new network marketer will become uneasy. However, all he or she has to do is present a copy of the company’s code of ethics. If your company is a member of the Direct Selling Association it has agreed to abide by it code of ethics. At http://www.DSA.org/ethics, it states the following:
· The cornerstone of the Direct Selling Association’s (DSA) commitment to ethical business practices and consumer service is its Code of Ethics. Every member company pledges to abide by the code’s standards and procedures as a condition of admission and continuing membership in DSA.
· The DSA Code of Ethics speaks to both the consumer and the seller. It ensures that member companies will make no statements or promises that might mislead either consumers or prospective sales people. Pyramid schemes are illegal and companies operating pyramids are not permitted to be members of the DSA.
· The DSA Code of Ethics is enforced by an independent code administrator who is not connected with any member company. The code administrator will do everything possible to resolve any complaints to the satisfaction of everyone involved, and has the power to decide on remedies. All member companies have agreed to honor the administrator’s decisions.
One can also go to the before mention website and read the entire code of ethics to which one’s member company has agreed and to which a network marketer has agreed if his or her company is a member of the Direct Selling Association.
Personal Ethics
Ethics is a big issue in business and many other areas. Some individuals want to make it to the top of their profession or just make a lot of money and are willing to compromise their values to do it. They may bend the truth or omit information that they think will lose them a sale or a recruit. There is no reason or place for this in network marketing. Network marketing is a great way to for people to change their lives. Whether their profit is $500.00, a month or $100,000.00 a month or anywhere in between a family’s financial situation will be changed. There is no reason to misrepresent your product or company if you believe in them. You many not get a recruit but you might get a loyal customer, whose good will may bring you a recruit.
Remember your prospects are not just looking at the product, service, or company, they are looking at you. If they join your team, they are joining because of their impression of you. If they purchase product they are buying for you and will refer their family and friends to buy from you. Good will goes a long way when comes to the success of a company, product, service and a network marketer. Remember, ethics is not doing the thing that looks right, Ethics is doing the thing that is right.
· These are some of the things an ethical network marketer wants to avoid to preserve the good will:
· Do not encourage recruits to purchase large amounts of product they cannot sell or personally use.
· Do not make unsubstantiated claims about your product or service
· Do not make unsubstantiated income claims or enticing income claim, because you that the amount of time and effort one has to give their network marketing business play a major role in their earning potential.
When you present you product and business, leave your prospects and customers with a position and accurate representation of your product and opportunity. They will think of you when some is looking for a product like yours or may even give your card to a friend or family member looking for a business opportunity. They might say I know some you can call she an outstanding and honest person check out her business.
